Closed for the Winter

🎄 The end of the season is here and Castle House Museum is now closed for the Winter. We are reflecting on the year gone by as another quickly approaches. 🎄

We would like to thank everyone who visited the Museum from near and far in 2023. We really enjoyed welcoming visitors and hearing their memories and stories about our town. Everyone here at Castle House Museum also greatly appreciates the support from members of the local community who celebrated our twenty-fifth anniversary year with us. The memories that we have made this year to commemorate our quarter of a century are ones that all of us here will treasure.

A big thank you goes out to our amazing volunteers for all of their hard work, you are a wonderful team and we are grateful for the time you have dedicated to the Museum this year.

The Museum will reopen to visitors at the start of the season on the 2nd of April. We would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year when it comes, and look forward to welcoming you in 2024. 🔔✨

This #ChristmasCollectionHighlight is a greetings card for Christmas and New Year 1948, sent by the former rector of the local school, William Dock. The illustrations show the Gantocks, the secondary school building (now Dunoon Primary), and the primary school building (this was in the same grounds but no longer stands).
